Professor Chidi A. Ibe, FAS

A distinguished scientist and diplomat with academic and professional qualifications in Geology, Engineering, Chemistry, and Oceanography. Prof. Ibe has published or edited 18 books, approximately 15 chapters in multi-author books, over 100 technical papers, and about 50 consultancy reports for the private sector, UN agencies, and governments including the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

He was an early member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC WG2) and served as Head, Marine Pollution Research and Monitoring at the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC-UNESCO), Paris. He served as Regional Director at UNIDO, as the first Executive Secretary of the Interim Guinea Current Commission, and as Senior Resident Consultant, OCA/PAC-UNEP Nairobi.

Ogechi N. Ibe
